When the clients bought this 1930s Tudor home, they were conflicted on how to design and style it. The husband wanted to stay true to the style of the home with a more traditional design, while the wife wanted to add some modern aesthetic into the design.

In the Dining Room we added a wainscotting chair rail and painted the upper walls and ceiling in a light blue gray to create the soft, formal feel that the husband wanted. For the wife’s desire, we installed a stunning, and a bit funky, beautiful John Richards Chandelier over the dining table. We furnished it with a dark traditional dining table and sideboard and made one of the client’s personal art pieces the focal point of the room.

In the Living Room, the clients had several pieces of furniture they wanted to keep, so we updated with a fresh coat of off-white paint to help reflect light into the area and added new window treatments to help soften the lines. We installed 1930’s era Rookwood Tiles above the fireplace and took it all the way up to the crown molding to create visual interest.
